Our client is seeking a Director of People Operations to own the people function end to end, from hiring and the employee lifecycle to compliance, compensation, and engagement. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, discreet, and comfortable building structure and repeatable processes in a lean, fast‑moving environment. This is a hybrid position based in New York City, NY.

Director Of People Operations' Responsibilities And Duties
- Own the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance cycles, promotions, offboarding, benefits administration, and leave
- Serve as system owner for the company's HRIS, ATS, and PEO platforms
- Manage multi-state US employment compliance, the employee handbook, and employee relations
- Lead the talent acquisition function and hiring process, including structured interviews, scorecards, and offer and leveling decisions
- Own leveling and salary bands and partner with Finance on headcount planning and compensation projections
- Drive engagement through company events, offsites, internal communications, and the engagement survey
Director Of People Operations' Qualifications And Skills
- At least 7 years of experience in HR or People Operations, including at least 2 years managing a direct report
- Experience owning HR compliance for a multi-state US employer, including New York
- Proven experience running a full performance and compensation cycle end to end
- System ownership of an HRIS and payroll platform, including an implementation or migration
- Direct employee relations experience, including conducting workplace investigations
- Experience partnering with Finance on headcount planning and compensation budgets
