Job description

We are looking for a Director of Operations to lead the performance of a multi-unit restaurant market.

This is a field leadership role. We need someone who wants to be in the restaurants, developing General Managers and District Managers, solving problems and driving results.

The Director of Operations will be responsible for sales, profitability, people development, guest experience and operational execution across their restaurants.

What You’ll Own
  • Lead the day-to-day performance of a multi-unit restaurant market
  • Coach and develop District Managers and General Managers
  • Drive sales, traffic and restaurant-level profitability
  • Improve labor, food cost and overall restaurant economics
  • Ensure restaurants consistently execute brand and operating standards
  • Identify underperforming restaurants and build clear improvement plans
  • Recruit, develop and retain strong restaurant leadership
  • Build a pipeline of future General Managers and District Managers
  • Regularly visit restaurants and stay connected to what is actually happening in the field
  • Partner with HR, Training, Marketing and other departments to support restaurant teams
  • Support new restaurant openings and market expansion
  • Review restaurant P&Ls and hold leaders accountable for results
  • Improve guest experience, speed of service, quality and consistency
  • Create accountability while maintaining a strong culture across the market
What We’re Looking For
  • Strong multi-unit restaurant operations experience
  • Experience leading District Managers, Area Managers or a large group of General Managers
  • Strong understanding of restaurant P&Ls and four-wall economics
  • Proven ability to improve sales, labor, food cost and profitability
  • Track record of developing strong restaurant leaders
  • Comfortable managing both high-performing and underperforming locations
  • Ability to identify problems quickly and turn them into actionable solutions
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Willingness to spend significant time in the restaurants
  • Experience with a growing restaurant brand is preferred
The Right Person

We are looking for an operator. Someone who doesn't manage restaurants from a spreadsheet.

You want to be in the field. You know your General Managers, understand what is happening inside your restaurants and aren't afraid to jump in when something isn't working.

You understand the P&L, but you also understand the people behind those numbers.

You develop leaders, create accountability and know how to get multiple restaurants consistently executing at a high level.

Most importantly, you take ownership of your market. When the restaurants win, you know why. When they don't, you don't make excuses. You figure out what needs to change and lead the team to fix it.
