The organization is seeking a full-time Director of Operations to manage day-to-day business operations across its studio network and corporate team. In this hands-on leadership role, the Director of Operations will oversee core operating systems—including people operations, recruiting, call center operations, inventory and warehousing, payroll, facilities, vendor management, compliance coordination, and the weekly operating cadence—enabling executive leadership to focus on strategic execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations across the studio network, corporate team, call center, scheduling, inventory, and warehouse functions.
- Oversee recruiting, performance management, talent reviews, and workforce planning, directly managing the People Lead.
- Establish and run scorecards, operating reviews, and weekly accountability cadences for studio partners, regional leaders, and corporate functions.
- Oversee payroll and back-office administration to ensure accurate, timely processing, including exceptions and corrections.
- Make facilities, vendor, and location expenditure decisions within established authority limits, communicating outcomes and business impact.
- Coordinate operational responses to labor, compliance, and legal matters by gathering facts, consulting qualified legal counsel as needed, and presenting clear recommendations and options to executive leadership.
- Identify recurring operational issues, resolve immediate concerns, and implement sustainable processes, owners, and metrics to prevent recurrence.
- Resolve routine operational matters independently while providing executive leadership with clear updates.
- Ensure every location maintains an active scorecard, a designated owner, and a consistent weekly review cadence operating independently of executive leadership.
- Maintain accurate inventory reconciliation, achieve call-center booking targets, reduce scheduling gaps, and ensure timely, error-free payroll execution.
- Manage active hiring funnels for open corporate and studio-partner roles while utilizing performance management to enhance team quality and consistency.
- Reduce employee and studio-partner turnover, stabilize underperforming locations against defined operating standards, and increase location profitability.
- Support new location launches on schedule, working toward a target of $20,000 in monthly profit per ramped location.
- Scale operating systems to support expansion from 25 to approximately 40 locations over three years while maintaining quality standards and contributing toward an annual EBITDA target of $7 million to $8 million across 40 or more locations.
Required Qualifications
- Experience leading operations across multiple brick-and-mortar locations in a regional, district, multi-unit, or general management capacity.
- Direct operational experience across several areas, including payroll, recruiting, performance management, facilities, vendor management, inventory, scheduling, or call-center operations.
- Demonstrated track record of leading teams while maintaining direct engagement with operational details to identify and resolve issues promptly.
- Sound operational judgment, including knowing when to decide independently, when to gather additional data, and when to escalate to executive leadership or qualified legal counsel.
- Practical approach to leveraging tools, external contractors, automation, and AI to improve operational execution efficiently without unnecessary headcount additions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, rigorous follow-through, and a history of holding teams accountable to measurable performance metrics.
- Ability to fulfill travel requirements of up to 80% and work effectively in a remote capacity near a major U.S. airport.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proximity to Phoenix, Houston, Dallas, or Reno.
Location and Travel
- This is a full-time, remote position based anywhere in the United States near a major commercial airport.
- Travel of up to 80% to studio locations is required, with higher travel expected during the initial 90 days to establish on-site accountability systems before settling into a lower, steady cadence.
- Studio locations are concentrated in Arizona, Texas, and Nevada.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $140,000 - $160,000 per year.
- Performance bonus: Up to 30% based on milestones.
- Benefits package includes health, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, and a retirement plan with employer match.
