Job summary

Pinehurst Medical Clinic (PMC) seeks a Director of Operations to lead strategic and operational initiatives across multiple clinical specialties and service areas.

You will oversee staffing, budgeting, productivity, and patient experience, working with physicians, APPs, and administrative leaders to drive efficiency and quality. This on-site role is based in Pinehurst, NC, with a focus on patient-centered care and organizational performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health/Business administration or related field; 5+ years as practice manager.
• MBA/MHA or related master’s degree preferred.

What will you do as a PMC Director of Operations:

As our Director of Operations at PMC, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for multiple clinical specialties and service areas within the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring efficient, effective, financially responsible, and patient-centered operations across assigned areas while supporting the organization’s purpose, mission, values, and strategic objectives.

The Director of Operations provides leadership and direction to Associate Directors of Operations, Practice Managers, Supervisors, and other operational leaders. The position establishes accountability for operational, financial, staffing, productivity, access, quality, compliance, and service performance and works collaboratively with physicians, APPs, clinical leaders, and administrative leadership to achieve organizational goals.

A day in the life of a PMC Director of Operationsmay include:

• Provides strategic and operational leadership for multiple clinical specialties and service areas in alignment with the organization’s mission, values, and strategic goals.
• Provides leadership, direction, coaching, and accountability to Associate Directors of Operations, Practice Managers, Supervisors, and other operational leaders.
• Accountable for the overall operational and financial performance of assigned specialties, including staffing, productivity, utilization, access, expenses, and resource management.
• Partners with physicians, APPs, clinical leaders, and administrative leaders to address operational challenges and improve patient care, access, provider performance, and the patient experience.
• Develops, implements, and monitors operational plans, policies, procedures, and performance standards to support efficient, effective, and compliant operations.
• Analyzes financial and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and variances and develops action plans to improve performance and achieve organizational goals.
• Ensures assigned areas comply with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and applicable healthcare laws and regulations.
• Leads and supports process improvement, technology implementation, and cross-functional initiatives that improve efficiency, standardization, access, quality, and service.
• Oversees provider, staff, and patient relations within assigned areas and works with appropriate leaders to resolve complex operational and administrative issues.
• Develops and strengthens operational leadership through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and succession planning.
• Communicates regularly with providers, staff, and organizational leadership regarding operational performance, priorities, challenges, and opportunities.
• Prepares and presents reports, manages assigned projects, participates in committees and organizational initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field or an Associate’s Degree with five (5) or more years as a practice manager required. MHA or MBA, or Masters in a relevant field is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Five (5) plus years’ experience leading multisite physician practices high desired.
• Experience with MIPS and APM's high desired.

Shift: Day Shift (Monday through Friday) no weekends or holidays
