Job summary

Pinehurst Medical Clinic (PMC) is seeking an Associate Director of Operations to lead daily operations across clinics and ensure high-quality patient care.

You will drive business plans, optimize staffing, equipment, and finances, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence in a physician-led environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field.
  • Associate’s Degree with five (5) or more years as a practice manager required.
  • MHA or MBA, or Masters in a relevant field is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Practice Manager/Supervisors for the day-to-day operations of the clinics, problems related to staffing, utilization of facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Solicit input from staff on program development and problem-solving.
  • Analyze department(s) financials/trending to identify and implement cost-effective operations.
  • Review and implement section(s) operating policies and procedures in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organization and the requirement of outside regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure that the clinic operates in support of the mission, values, and philosophies of the organization.
  • Ensure clinic compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies. Initiates changes as appropriate.
  • Ensure that open, professional communication is maintained with providers and staff on a routine basis. Involves providers on issues that affect the clinic as appropriate.
  • Oversee the management of provider, team, and patient relations, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Develop and administer a staffing strategywith the assistance of practice managers/supervisors that will allow the clinic to operate in an efficient, cost-effective manner.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of clinic departmental policies and procedures.

What will you do as a PMC Associate Director of Operations:

As one of our Associate Directors of Operations at PMC, you will serve as a strategic leader. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing daily operations to ensure high-quality patient care and operational excellence across departments.

You will lead the development and execution of business plans, while ensuring the efficient use of personnel, equipment, and financial resources. A key part of your role will be driving performance outcomes, improving operational workflows, and identifying opportunities for revenue growth. You will also oversee employee recruitment and retention, fostering a supportive and high-performing team culture.

Your leadership will support a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and service excellence. By building strong relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders, you will help enhance both the patient experience and the overall performance of the organization.

A day in the life of a PMC Associate Director of Operationsmay include:

  • Establishes team performance standards of quality and productivity. Provides ongoing feedback to team regarding the status of these goals and provides direction in resolving variances.
  • Provide guidance to supervisors and practice managers on issues regarding staff selection, compensation, corrective action, and grievances.
  • Resolve any medical-administrative problems and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional clinic atmosphere.
  • Participate in professional development activities to remain current with healthcare trends and practices.
  • Conduct office meetings on a regular basis and encourages team participation.
  • Prepare reports and manages assigned projects.
  • Coordinate operational projects as determined by the Director.
  • Function as a front-line administrative member as needed.
  • Participate in committees as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field or an Associate’s Degree with five (5) or more years as a practice manager required. MHA or MBA, or Masters in a relevant field is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five (5) plus years’ experience leading multisite physician practices high desired.
  • Experience with MIPS and APM's high desired.

Shift: Day Shift (Monday through Friday) no weekends or holidays
Pay Type: Salaried (Exempt)
