Job description

New York City | Confidential Hospitality Destination

Full-Time | On-Site

SkyBridge Luxury & Associates is conducting a confidential search for an accomplished Director of Operations to lead a complex, high-volume, multi-concept hospitality destination in New York City.

This is a senior operating leadership role responsible for the overall performance, culture, guest experience, and financial success of an operation that includes multiple restaurants, bars, specialty food concepts, events, private dining, and additional guest-facing experiences.

The successful candidate must be a proven leader of leaders. This is not simply a larger Restaurant General Manager position. We are looking for someone who has already managed significant scale, complexity, revenue, and senior leadership teams.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The strongest candidates will bring:

  • 8–10+ years of progressive hospitality leadership experience with significant senior-level operational responsibility.
  • Ideally 3–5+ years as a Director of Operations, Managing Director, Multi-Unit General Manager, large-scale General Manager, or comparable senior operator.
  • Proven success leading high-volume, multi-concept restaurant, food hall, entertainment hospitality, or similarly complex F&B operations.
  • Experience overseeing multiple outlets or concepts simultaneously, rather than a single restaurant.
  • Significant P&L responsibility, including revenue, labor, COGS, operating expenses, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability.
  • Experience directly leading and developing General Managers and other senior operational leaders.
  • A track record of building leadership teams, improving performance, identifying high-potential talent, and creating succession plans.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations, beverage, guest experience, private dining, events, and high-volume service.
  • Experience leading large, diverse hourly and management teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve operational execution, financial performance, labor productivity, guest satisfaction, and employee retention.
  • Strong labor management experience, including staffing models, scheduling, overtime, deployment, and leadership coverage.
  • Ability to partner effectively with Culinary, Beverage, Finance, Sales, Events, Marketing, People & Culture, Facilities, and executive leadership.
  • Experience managing relationships with ownership, landlords, property partners, vendors, or other key external stakeholders.
  • New York City hospitality experience strongly preferred.
  • Executive-level communication, organization, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • A visible, accountable, collaborative, people-focused, and hands-on leadership style.

These requirements closely reflect the original profile, which prioritizes senior operational experience, complex multi-concept leadership, substantial financial responsibility, and the ability to develop General Managers and senior leaders.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of Operations will provide strategic and day-to-day leadership across the operation while maintaining clear standards and accountability across each concept.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drive overall operational and financial performance.
  • Lead revenue, profitability, labor, COGS, and operating expense performance.
  • Partner on budgeting, forecasting, and annual business planning.
  • Coach and develop General Managers and senior leaders.
  • Build leadership pipelines and succession plans.
  • Maintain high standards for hospitality, service, cleanliness, and operational execution.
  • Partner closely with Culinary and Beverage leadership.
  • Oversee workforce strategy, staffing levels, productivity, and retention.
  • Support private dining, events, buyouts, and major activations.
  • Maintain strong safety, sanitation, food safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with Facilities on preventative maintenance, repairs, and capital needs.
  • Use financial results, guest feedback, and operating data to identify opportunities and improve performance.
  • Serve as a key liaison with senior leadership and external property stakeholders.
  • Lead change-management and continuous-improvement initiatives across the operation.

The underlying position carries direct accountability across operations, financial performance, leadership development, guest experience, F&B, workforce strategy, events, compliance, and strategic planning.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Success will be measured through revenue growth, operating profitability, labor productivity, food and beverage cost performance, guest satisfaction, leadership development, employee retention, event execution, operational consistency, and the strength of key stakeholder relationships.

SCHEDULE & REQUIREMENTS

This is a fully on-site New York City leadership position. Candidates must be comfortable working according to the needs of the business, including evenings, weekends, holidays, special events, and peak operating periods.

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field is preferred; equivalent senior-level hospitality experience will be considered.

The most important qualification is a demonstrated record of successfully leading large-scale, high-volume, multi-concept hospitality operations with genuine financial and leadership accountability.
