Job summary

Texas Capital is seeking a seasoned Business Control Director to lead the Bank’s 1LOD risk management function. You will guide a team of risk professionals, ensuring adherence to policies and robust controls across all business units.

Responsibilities include designing preventative and detective controls, coordinating risk assessments, and reporting to senior management. The role demands deep expertise in operational risk, governance, and strong leadership in a complex financial services

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business or CS.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in financial services or related field.
• Expertise in risk management frameworks and governance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the business/function identifies, owns and manages risks within processes and products.
• Design and implement preventive and detective controls tailored to activities.
• Maintain evidence of effective control execution and drive remediation plans.
• Coordinate the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process for the business/function.
• Challenge control effectiveness ratings and ensure risks are properly scored.
• Provide risk and control reporting to senior management and governance committees.
• Monitor adherence to policies, standards, and tolerance thresholds.
• Assess operational risks for new products, processes or system changes; embed controls before go-live.
