HMR Veterans Services seeks a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the Nursing Department at the Ambrosio Guillen Texas State Veterans Home in El Paso, TX. You will plan, direct, and oversee nursing operations to deliver high-quality care to veterans.

The DON will develop policies, manage staffing and budgets, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive quality improvement while mentoring staff and coordinating with administrators and committees.

Formación

• Nursing degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Current, active RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of three years nursing experience in skilled nursing/long-term care with supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations and standards of practice for skilled nursing and long-term care facilities.
• Demonstrated knowledge of clinical operations, resident care, infection prevention and control, and quality assurance/performance improvement.
• Sound clinical and administrative judgment with the ability to make independent decisions within scope of the role.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work with residents, families, staff, physicians, and regulators.
• Experience serving Veteran populations preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, develop, implement, and direct the Nursing Department's programs and activities.
• Develop, maintain, and update policies and procedures for day-to-day nursing operations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain a QA program and support QA&A activities.
• Determine staffing needs and supervise CNA trainees.
• Conduct daily rounds to ensure nursing standards, safety, and infection control.
• Participate in surveys, committees, and resident screenings; advise on department capacity.
• Monitor medication administration and provide direct nursing care as needed.
• Develop comprehensive resident care plans identifying needs and goals.
• Prepare and manage the Nursing Department budget; present to Administration.
• Address resident complaints and ensure proper documentation and non-discriminatory practices.
• Attend trainings and maintain licensure; perform related duties as assigned.
