Job summary

SanStone Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a Director of Nursing Services (DON) / RN for The Lodge at Sandhills Carolina in Pinehurst, NC. Lead our nursing team to deliver high-quality, compassionate care in a state-of-the-art setting.

You will oversee operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive best practices across patient care, staffing, and policies while collaborating with the facility Administrator and the broader care team.

Qualifications

• Maintain a current RN license in North Carolina.
• Passion for working with seniors.
• 1+ year nursing management in long-term care.
• Strong leadership and personnel development abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and regulatory knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Direct, supervise, and evaluate nursing personnel.

As the Director of Nursing (DON), you will:

• Hold overall accountability for providing leadership, direction, and administration of day-to-day operations associated with direct patient care.

Responsibilities include:

• Direct, oversee and evaluate all nursing personnel including nurses, medication aides, certified nursing assistants, and nurse aides in training
• Guide staffing procedures
• Set objectives and goals for the nursing department
• Organize and coordinate admission, nursing, and patient care procedures
• Develop and enforce policies aiming for legal compliance and high-quality standards
• Control budgets and monitor expenses within the department, including supplies and payroll
• Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations
• Report to and collaborate with the facility's Administrator

Qualifications of the Director of Nursing (DON):

• Maintain a current/unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
• A passion for working with seniors.
• 1+ years of nursing management in the long-term care industry with the experience to include hiring, coaching, performance management, scheduling, and daily operations supervision.
• Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel.
• Great communication and people skills, including keeping a good rapport with surrounding hospitals and organizations.
• Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Be aware of changing standards in nursing administration with strong knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare.
