Concept Rehab in Newark, OH is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing services at a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. This hands-on clinical leader will guide licensed staff and drive resident-centered care.

You will ensure regulatory compliance, staff development, and quality outcomes while fostering teamwork and a positive workplace culture. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Current, active Ohio RN license.
• Director of Nursing experience in skilled nursing/long-term care preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations and Ohio LTC requirements.
• Demonstrated leadership, staff management, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily clinical operations of the nursing department to ensure safe, high-quality, resident-centered care.
• Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
• Develop staffing plans and monitor nursing schedules to maintain appropriate coverage.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, CMS requirements, and Ohio Department of Health standards.
• Monitor clinical outcomes, quality measures, infection prevention, and resident safety.
• Oversee resident assessments, individualized care plans, and accurate clinical documentation.
• Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Administrator, Medical Director, department heads, residents, and families to address concerns and improve care delivery.
• Promote staff accountability, professional development, teamwork, and a positive workplace culture.
• Prepare for regulatory surveys and help implement corrective action plans when needed.
