Job Type: Full-Time

Setting: Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care / Rehabilitation

Schedule: Flexible day shift - 7:00 AM-3:00 PM or 8:00 AM-4:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee the Nursing Services Department and ensure high-quality resident care. The DON will provide clinical leadership, supervise nursing staff, maintain regulatory compliance, and support quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee daily nursing operations and resident care.
• Supervise, support, and evaluate nursing staff.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local long-term care regulations.
• Maintain nursing policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
• Monitor staffing, scheduling, attendance, and staff credentials.
• Oversee infection prevention and control practices.
• Review admissions, care plans, clinical documentation, incidents, and resident outcomes.
• Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities.
• Address resident and family concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up.
• Ensure required staff education and in-service training are completed.
• Collaborate with administration, physicians, nursing staff, residents, and families.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
• Current CPR certification.
• Gerontology certification preferred.
• At least 1 year of rehabilitative or geriatric nursing experience or related education.
• At least 1 year of nursing administration/leadership experience, such as DON, ADON, Nursing Supervisor, Head Nurse, Staff Development, or Infection Control.
• Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations and nursing standards.
