Job summary

Ivy Hill Post Acute Nursing and Rehabilitation in Philadelphia, PA is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department. The role focuses on quality resident care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and positive clinical outcomes.

The DON will provide leadership to RNs, LPNs, CNAs and other staff, ensure CMS and state regulations are met, oversee QAPI initiatives, and collaborate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote excellent care.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Pennsylvania RN license.
• Minimum of 3 years nursing experience, preferably in a skilled nursing/long-term care setting.
• Previous nursing management or leadership experience required.
• Strong knowledge of CMS and Pennsylvania Department of Health regulations.
• Experience with electronic medical records.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of resident care and quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Monitor nursing staffing levels and assist with scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage.
• Provide ongoing education, training, and competency development for nursing staff.
• Participate in surveys, regulatory visits, and the development and implementation of Plans of Correction when necessary.
• Collaborate with physicians, residents, families, rehabilitation, social services, dietary, activities, and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Promote strong communication and teamwork throughout the nursing department.
• Establish clear expectations for staff performance, accountability, and professionalism.
• Participate in leadership meetings and assist with facility-wide quality improvement initiatives.

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.

• Experience preparing for and successfully managing federal and state surveys.

• Experience with QAPI, quality measures, staffing initiatives, and performance improvement programs.
