Job summary

Excel Care is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead its clinical team and drive high-quality, resident-centered care in a skilled nursing environment.

The DON will oversee day-to-day operations, mentor staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with leadership to implement policies and quality initiatives. A strong RN license and prior leadership in long-term care are essential.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in the state of practice.
• Long-term care or skilled nursing experience with prior leadership roles (DON/ADON/Unit Manager).
• Strong knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations and survey processes.
• Excellent communication with staff, residents, and families.
• Calm, organized and confident in leading a nursing team.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support the nursing department including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
• Oversee day-to-day clinical operations and ensure high-quality, resident-centered care.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and lead survey readiness.
• Develop and implement clinical policies, quality improvement initiatives, and staff education.
• Manage nursing staffing, scheduling, and recruitment in partnership with leadership.
• Collaborate closely with the Administrator, physicians, residents, and families.
• Monitor clinical outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
