A leading surgical facility operator is seeking a strategic leader to oversee nursing staff and ensure quality patient care. This role involves managing projects, fostering teamwork, and optimizing departmental workflows to enhance service standards and patient satisfaction.
Directs, develops, and implements strategic and operational/high level projects and processes through either independently or through facilitation of a work team to effectively complete objectives.
Oversees management and development of nursing staff to meet overall objectives of quality, services, and cost-effective care. Provides timely guidance and feedback to help others strengthen knowledge and skills needed to accomplish tasks.
Identifies opportunities and proactiveness in building strategic relationships with nursing staff, physicians, and other stakeholders in the organization to build a strong culture of teamwork.
Drives department service standards to impact clinical departments in objectives related to patient satisfaction, quality of care, nursing quality indicators, regulatory measures, and other metrics.
Actively participates in various committees across the organization and is a voice for the departments represented.
Employs a proactive approach in optimization of safe outcomes by monitoring departmental systems and workflows. Implements process improvement science to create action plans.
Remains current and proficient with regulatory requirements for the provision of clinical services with Joint Commission and CMS standards.
Drives change initiatives and implements innovative solutions for practices or workflow changes to improve departments by leading unit projects, huddles, and performance improvement initiatives.
Oversight of all nursing and ancillary support personnel involved in Scheduling, Admitting, Operating Room, Recovery Room, Endoscopy, and SPD.
Establishes policy and standards of nursing care and practice and coordinates with the Policy Committee. Works closely with the CNO to review and revise current facility policies and procedures.
Consults with the CNO or Medical Director regarding medical problems.
Provides professional development of staff members and oversees employee rounding.
Assists managers with the coordination of vacation and time off schedules.
Oversight of direct reports (Managers/Supervisors) in monitoring licensure of professional nursing personnel and BLS, ACLS, and PALS (as applicable) status.
Oversight of direct reports (Managers/Supervisors), with annual evaluations and monitoring job performance of nursing staff to confirm compliance with policies and personal protection.
Provides support to managers with arranging maintenance and repair of medical equipment when needed.
Ensures appropriate resource allocation with supplies and equipment.
Monitors efficient ordering of supplies and forwards purchase requests for capital equipment to the Executive Suite.
Meets with manufacturer representatives regarding updates on equipment and new products in collaboration with the Materials Management Director.
Serves as a member of the Quality Improvement Committee.
Reviews variance reporting in collaboration with Managers/Supervisors of each area.
