Job summary

Crowne Health Care of Fort Payne is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team in a long-term care and rehabilitation setting. The DON will drive resident-centered care and ensure regulatory compliance while supporting staff development.

The ideal candidate is an experienced RN with strong leadership, clinical judgment, and the ability to foster a positive workplace culture, collaboration with physicians, residents, families, and the care team.

Qualifications

• Current Alabama Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Previous nursing leadership or management experience required.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations governing long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Nursing Department.
• Provide leadership and oversight to ensure high-quality, resident-centered care.
• Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff while promoting accountability and teamwork.
• Ensure nursing services remain in compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations and policies.
• Monitor clinical outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.
• Oversee appropriate nursing staffing and assist with recruitment, retention, and staff development.
• Collaborate with physicians, residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement activities.
• Prepare for and participate in state surveys and inspections.
• Promote a positive workplace culture focused on excellent resident care and employee success.
