Avenues at Springfield is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the Nursing Department, ensuring high quality care in accordance with federal, state, and local standards. The DON will plan, organize, develop, and direct day-to-day functions, coordinating with resident services to maintain the seamless regimen of care.

The role requires a nursing degree and an active Illinois RN license, with preferred 3 years of supervisor healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must possess a current Illinois unencumbered license to practice as a RN.
• 3 years of experience in a supervisor healthcare role, preferred.

Director of Nursing (DON)

Position Summary:

The primary purpose of the Director of Nursing is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained.

Essential Duties:

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing department, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.


• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents' total regimen of care.


• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc.


• Ensure enough licensed practical and/or registered nurses; Certified Nursing Assistants; medications; and safety equipment are available and utilized in the proper manner for each shift to ensure that quality care is maintained.
