Job summary

Skilled Nursing Facility in Springfield seeks a Director of Nursing (DON) to plan, organize, develop, and direct the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Department in compliance with federal, state, and local standards to ensure quality resident care.

The DON will supervise nursing staff, coordinate with resident services, manage administrative tasks, and maintain adequate staffing and safety provisions to deliver consistent, high-quality care across shifts.

Qualifications

• Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must possess a current Illinois unencumbered license to practice as a RN.
• 3 years of experience in a supervisor healthcare role, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing department.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to ensure continuity of care.
• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, and charting.
• Ensure adequate licensed staff, medications, and safety equipment are available for each shift to maintain quality care.

Position Summary:

The primary purpose of the Director of Nursing is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained.

Essential Duties:

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing department, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents' total regimen of care.
• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc.
• Ensure enough licensed practical and/or registered nurses; Certified Nursing Assistants; medications; and safety equipment are available and utilized in the proper manner for each shift to ensure that quality care is maintained.
