Job summary

Genentech Oceanside is seeking a senior materials leader to strengthen supply chain execution, warehousing operations, and cGMP compliance. You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and Strategic Supply Planning to drive operational excellence across site and network.

The role requires 9–12 years in materials handling with a 15-year total experience, leadership experience, and familiarity with SAP/MRP in validated environments. A related APICS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelors and/or Master’s degree (materials management, business, or science is preferred) plus 15 years of total experience, including 5 years experience in supervisory role.
• 9-12 years’ experience in materials handling/management, warehousing, receiving, distribution, traffic, transportation, logistics, operations, and/or supply chain.
• DHS TSA clearance and CCSP experience DOT AITA experience APICS certification preferred or willing to work toward certification.
• Professional certifications in Materials Management/Materials Handling desired.
• Industry & Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing environments, backed by knowledge of industry standards for materials handling, receiving, shipping, and storage.
• Leadership & Collaboration: Strong leadership and team-development abilities, with cross-functional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Regulatory Compliance & Hazmat Safety: In-depth knowledge of cGMP concepts, Hazmat regulations, safe chemical handling, Right-to-Know, and DOT compliance.

Responsibilities

• Drive operational excellence and lean leadership in materials management.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and Strategic Supply Planning.
• Shape strategic materials management across site and network operations.
• Maintain compliance with cGMP and Hazmat safety standards.
