Job summary

Clearwave Fiber is seeking a Director of Market Development to drive market entry strategies and expansion across multiple states. This remote role requires 50-60% travel and oversight of municipal and community engagement, regulatory navigation, and cross-functional execution.

The ideal candidate will lead market development efforts, build relationships with stakeholders, and scale processes, tools, and talent to sustain growth across the Midwest and Southeast regions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in market development, business development, government relations, telecom, infrastructure or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience building and leading teams, including hiring, performance management and accountability.
• Deep understanding of telecom, broadband, or utility-scale infrastructure markets.
• Proven ability to operate across municipal, regulatory, and corporate environments.

Responsibilities

• Own market advancement recommendations and lead go/no-go decisions for executive approval.
• Develop and execute market development strategies across priority markets with balance of growth and regulatory considerations.
• Drive market entry playbooks from outreach to market approval and announcement.
• Identify opportunities, risks and dynamics influencing entry and scale in markets.
• Lead municipal and community engagement with mayors, city councils, managers, and other stakeholders.
• Represent Clearwave in external meetings and stakeholder engagements.
• Translate market intelligence into actionable recommendations for leadership.
