Job description

Schedule:

  • Full-time
  • As an “AOG” and on-customer-site maintenance company, scheduling is driven by customer demand.
  • This position may require extensive travel based on operational needs. Expenses paid.

Job Responsibilities: What You Will Do

  • Oversee all maintenance operations, ensuring strict adherence to FAA Part 145 regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and strategies to enhance maintenance efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Direct and manage a team of 20 aircraft technicians, crew chiefs, and supervisors to ensure effective workflow and high-quality service.
  • Maintain compliance with FAA Part 145 repair station requirements, ensuring all personnel, tools, training, and facilities meet regulatory mandates.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for FAA regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities align with FAA, OSHA, and ASG safety standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of all repairs and maintenance performed, ensuring documentation meets FAA Part 145 and other regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules, prioritizing urgent repair needs while minimizing aircraft downtime.
  • Oversee training programs to ensure maintenance personnel are compliant with FAA regulations, certifications, and continuous education.
  • Appoint and oversee the Chief Inspector to ensure compliance with inspection, audit, and quality control standards per FAA Part 145 requirements.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the maintenance department.
  • Monitor maintenance performance metrics and implement process improvements as necessary.
  • Assist in budget preparation and control maintenance-related expenses.

Qualifications: What You Need to Bring

  • A&P License required.
  • Extensive experience in aviation maintenance (structural repairs and/or fuel tank repairs preferred).
  • Previous leadership experience in an FAA Part 145 repair station environment highly preferred.
  • Strong expertise in FAA Part 145 regulations, including compliance procedures, repair station manuals, and quality control systems.
  • Exceptional organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software and digital record-keeping systems, ensuring compliance with FAA mandates.
  • Experience leading FAA audits, investigations, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. under the Immigration Act of 1986.
  • Must pass a pre-employment FAA/DOT drug and alcohol test.
  • Must pass a Criminal Background Check (FAA-required security clearance for maintenance personnel).

Primary Job Duties

  • Ensure 100% compliance with FAA Part 145 regulations and industry standards.
  • Maintain FAA Repair Station Manual (RSM) and Training Program compliance.
  • Develop and execute maintenance strategies to optimize aircraft readiness.
  • Serve as primary FAA liaison for regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance initiatives.
  • Appoint and oversee the Chief Inspector, ensuring adherence to FAA Part 145 quality control standards.
  • Conduct inspections and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Manage departmental budgets and resources effectively.
  • Work Context
  • Communication: Frequent communication with ASG leadership, regulatory bodies, customers, and maintenance teams.
  • Responsibility for Others: Direct oversight of maintenance teams and operations.
  • Work Setting: Combination of office, customer sites, and hangars. Some outdoor work may be required.
  • Job Hazards: Exposure to aircraft fuel tanks, aircraft fuel fumes, hazardous chemicals, as well as typical aircraft maintenance facility potential hazards (potential slips, falls and overhead hazards).
  • Work Attire: ASG-provided, LOGO shirts, are required while on duty.
  • Pace and Scheduling: A combination of scheduled and urgent maintenance activities. Weekend and extended hours may be necessary.

Mechanic - While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, climb, and use hands and fingers to operate various tools (i.e. drills, ladders, welding, chemicals, etc.). May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 200 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to extreme noise (i.e. airports with jet engines, vehicles and other machinery), temperature, wind, and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Ability to wear personal protective gear (hearing protection, eye protection, respirator cartridge mask). Travel may be a requirement of the role.
