Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company partners with an Austin-based developer, owner and operator of utility-scale battery energy storage to hire a Director of M&A. You will own the inorganic growth strategy end to end, from sourcing and underwriting through negotiation, closing, and handoff to development and operations.

You will work closely with executive leadership and capital partners. This role requires leading multiple closed transactions, developing proprietary deal flow across ERCOT markets,

Qualifications

• 8+ years in M&A or related fields with at least 4 years in renewables/energy storage
• Proven track record closing transactions including development-stage or operating assets
• Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (DCF, returns)
• Working knowledge of ERCOT market structure and interconnection process
• Experience negotiating purchase agreements with legal/tax/technical advisors
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or related field

Responsibilities

• Own inorganic growth strategy end to end — sourcing, underwriting, negotiation, closing, and handoff to development/ops
• Develop relationships to generate deal flow across developers, landowners, brokers, utilities, and funds
• Lead due diligence across commercial, technical, and financial areas, including interconnection and permits
• Structure transactions with lenders, tax equity, and equity co-investors; manage closing mechanics
• Support equity raises, joint ventures, and portfolio strategies alongside CFO
