Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a seasoned Director of Banquets & Events to lead banquet, catering, conference and special event operations across multiple luxury venues in Alabama. The role requires building a high-performing team, managing budgets, forecasting, and driving revenue growth through strategic planning and flawless service.

Collaborate with Sales, Conference Services, Culinary, and Marketing to deliver extraordinary events while maintaining exceptional service standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive banquet or event operations leadership experience, including multi-venue management.
• Proven success leading large teams, developing leaders, and building a high-performance culture.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, labor, and profitability.
• Experience delivering luxury hospitality service in a Four Diamond, Four Star, or comparable environment.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands require.

• Develop and coach high-performing leaders while fostering a culture of service, accountability, and excellence
• Manage departmental budgets, forecasting, labor planning, and financial performance
• Partner with Sales, Conference Services, Culinary, Marketing, and key stakeholders to execute exceptional events
• Ensure consistent luxury service standards while overseeing large-scale events, VIP functions, and operational excellence
• Drive innovation, operational improvements, and revenue growth through strategic planning and programming
