Job summary

Elon University is seeking a Director of Live Broadcast Production for Athletics to oversee all live video productions for Elon Athletics. The role reports to the Assistant Athletics Director for Creative Services and works with Elon Sports Vision to livestream events and create promotional and social content.

The position requires 1–3 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred. Nights and weekends are required to support varsity sports and events on campus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with video projects, social media content, and distribution of web video assets.
• Assist in staffing and training of video operations positions for game days.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Athletics Director for Creative Services, the Director of Live Broadcast Production for Athletics serves as a member of the Athletics Communications team and works closely with the Coordinating Producer of Elon Sports Vision in the Elon University School of Communications on all aspects of live broadcasts and video production for athletics. Additionally, this position works closely with Creative Services to produce video projects including (but not limited to) intro videos, promotional videos, social media content, pre- and post-game content, videoboard and streaming graphical assets, and other video projects as assigned.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

Significant interaction with students, faculty and staff. The individual should possess a strong work-ethic, the ability to juggle multiple projects at a time and a working knowledge of live video production for college athletics. Ability to work nights and weekend required.

Job Duties

• Coordinating or leading all live video broadcasts of home Elon athletic events, in partnership with Elon Sports Vision (ESV) and the Schar School of Communications. The successful candidate will be responsible for working in partnership with ESV to livestream all football, men’s and women’s basketball games, and select Olympic sport events, throughout the academic calendar at or above broadcast standards set by Elon and the CAA.
• Demonstrate a commitment to NCAA rules compliance and adherence to NCAA regulations.
• Responsibilities will also include management of specific parts of the Elon Athletics website related to video and assisting with the production of creative video projects, as assigned. This position will assist with any multi-media projects that are determined to be priorities of the Elon University Department of Athletics and its Athletic Communications Department. The emphasis will be in content creation and distribution involving new media techniques such as, but not limited to, live video production, post-production archiving and distribution, management of social media and web content (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, ElonPhoenix.com, etc.) and video streaming.
• This position will assist in the staffing and training of video operations positions for game days.
