Job summary

UG2 is seeking a Program Director to oversee facility operations, maintenance, and engineering services for our portfolio. You will lead large cross-functional teams, standardize best practices, mitigate operational risk, and drive reliable, compliant facilities services across our client sites.

The role demands deep building-systems knowledge, lifecycle planning, and strong project-management skills to deliver high-quality results and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or facilities management.
• Minimum 10 years in facilities management with leadership experience.
• Deep knowledge of building systems: utility, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, labs.
• Experience with preventive/predictive maintenance, energy management, and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, maintenance technicians, and support staff.
• Develop and implement SOPs for facility operations and maintenance.
• Establish and monitor KPIs to ensure operational excellence.
• Oversee operation, maintenance, and repair of all building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, BAS, life safety, labs).
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with regulations including OSHA and EPA.
• Provide technical leadership for central utility plants and life sciences systems.
• Advise on capital planning and lifecycle management for new or renovated facilities.
• Review and approve SOPs, P&IDs, and engineering procedures.
• Develop and manage small capital projects and renovations on time and budget.
• Collaborate with property management, tenants, and stakeholders to align goals.
• Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets for engineering and maintenance.
• Track expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Suggest, select, negotiate, and manage vendor contracts; evaluate performance.
• Develop emergency response plans and ensure readiness.
• Stay current with industry trends and implement efficiency improvements.
