Job summary

Kemper is seeking a Director of IT Planning & Performance Management to align enterprise IT plans with CTO and CISO priorities. You will oversee demand intake, capacity, budgeting, and executive dashboards to drive informed decisions.

This role requires strong leadership across matrix teams and a deep focus on governance and PMO practices. The successful candidate will partner with ETS, Apex, and data leadership to deliver cross-functional roadmaps, optimize delivery, and provide performance

Qualifications

• 10+ years in IT strategy, technology planning, program management, governance or related leadership.
• 5+ years of matrix leadership overseeing cross-functional technology teams.
• Proven success in enterprise demand management, roadmaps, capacity planning, and investment governance.
• Strong experience with IT budgets, forecasting, executive performance reporting, and Agile/SAFe delivery.
• IT portfolio management experience.
• Excellent strategic analysis, executive communication, influencing, facilitation, and stakeholder management.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or related discipline; advanced education or professional certifications preferred.
• This position works at Kemper office.

Responsibilities

• Enterprise Strategy & Roadmaps: Integrate IT plans into a consolidated view, identify priorities and dependencies.
• Demand Prioritization & Governance: Establish intake, evaluation, prioritization, and planning standards.
• Capacity & Investment Oversight: Consolidate capacity, demand, budget, forecast, and investments.
• Performance & Executive Reporting: Direct IT planning dashboards and leadership reviews with clear visibility.
• Matrix Leadership & Improvement: Coach planning managers and strengthen enterprise planning practices.
