Job summary

Scale Computing, a leader in edge computing and hyperconverged solutions, seeks a Director of IT to lead corporate IT including end-user services, identity, endpoints, and SaaS platforms. The role owns prioritization, delivery, cost, reliability, and security of the corporate technology estate.

The position is a full-time, in-office role based in Austin, TX or Indianapolis, IN. The strongest candidates streamline environments post-acquisition and measure success by outcomes and cost savings

Qualifications

• 10+ years in IT with 5+ years leading IT teams.
• Demonstrated fluency running Jira Service Management or equivalent ITSM.
• Hands-on depth with workforce identity (SSO/MFA, Entra ID/Azure AD, Okta).
• Track record of consolidating IT environments, tools, and service desks.
• Experience owning an IT budget and negotiating SaaS/hardware contracts.
• Audits experience (PCI-DSS, SOC 2, or ISO 27001).
• Experience using AI tools in IT operations or leadership.
• Strong leadership: development planning and performance management.
• Clear written and verbal communication with technical and executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the IT service desk: intake, catalog, queues, SLA, knowledge base.
• Consolidate duplicate workflows into a single IT service model and retire redundant tooling.
• Own identity and access lifecycle for the workforce with HR integration.
• Own endpoint management across Windows, macOS, and mobile devices.
• Manage the SaaS portfolio and IT vendors: license utilization, renewals, contracts.
• Own IT asset management: hardware lifecycle, procurement, inventory, disposal.
• Oversee office and remote connectivity, conferencing, and collaboration.
• Build and manage the IT budget with unit economics and cost savings.
• Use AI to reduce IT workload and set team usage standards.
• Develop the IT team with documented plans and accountability.
• Represent IT in change management and cross-functional planning.
