Sound Transit is seeking a senior leader to evolve its IT project portfolio management, aligning portfolio, program, and project activities with agency strategy and service goals.

The role focuses on standardizing methods, improving delivery outcomes, and maturing governance, with deep collaboration across departments and with the IT leadership team. Hybrid work is supported and the position offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or closely related field.
• Eight years hands-on experience in senior IT project/program positions; Six years of leadership, budgetary, planning and workforce management experience.
• PMI certifications such as PMP or PgMP preferred.
• A strong foundation in governance, controls, and performance management to drive value.

Responsibilities

• Owns the product vision and outcomes by understanding customer needs, business objectives, and user impact.
• Leads the IT Project Portfolio Management Office with enterprise oversight of portfolio, program, and project management services.
• Evolve portfolio, program, and project management capabilities by standardizing processes and strengthening controls.
• Builds strategic partnerships across the agency to support cross-department planning and service orientation.
