Job summary

Dr. Tavel Family Eye Care in Indianapolis, IN seeks a Director of IT to lead a hands-on, senior-team oriented department responsible for all core IT, security, and business applications across 29 sites in Indiana.

In this role, you will manage Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Windows servers, and a hybrid environment with on-premises and Azure, while mentoring a three-senior admins and help desk.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership.
• Proven track record developing people and teams.
• Strong judgment on when to implement process vs. execute.
• Excellent written and verbal communication suited to senior leaders.
• Active use of AI tools to improve operations.

Responsibilities

• Own core IT operations including Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Windows server, networking, backup, and DR.
• Manage a 29-site network with VPNs and Zscaler remote access.
• Oversee organization-wide ticketing and first-line user support.
• Support critical business applications with application owners.
• Lead identity and access management across IT and software teams.
• Coach and develop a four-person IT team.
• Plan hybrid infrastructure with Azure as the cloud platform going forward.
• Handle vendor relationships, licensing and budgeting.
• Maintain security posture and HIPAA compliance.
• Identify and deploy AI tools to generate measurable value in IT operations and service delivery.
