Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience across IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or IT operations.
• 7+ years of IT leadership experience, including team and budget ownership.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Azure, enterprise networking, security, DLP, data centers, and infrastructure operations.
• Experience managing MSP relationships and leading internal or hybrid IT teams.
• Ability to challenge technical assumptions, evaluate project timelines, and communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Proven experience leading complex infrastructure projects, migrations, or M&A integrations.
• Strong business partnership and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels of an organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure and IT operations, including cloud, networking, security, data centers, and end-user services.
• Manage the relationship with the outsourced IT provider, ensuring service quality, accountability, and a successful transition to a hybrid delivery model.
• Lead and develop an internal team of infrastructure engineers and IT project resources.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand technology needs, improve processes, and enhance IT service delivery.
• Oversee day-to-day IT operations, including onboarding/offboarding, access management, endpoint lifecycle, and service delivery.
• Lead major technology initiatives, including M&A integrations, systems migrations, and data center planning and buildout.
• Drive infrastructure strategy, project execution, operational governance, and business continuity.
• Monitor service performance, manage vendor relationships, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Optomi is partnering with a professional services organization to identify a Director of IT Infrastructure & Operations. This individual will lead global IT operations and oversee the transition from a fully outsourced IT model to a hybrid internal team. The role requires a strong combination of technical knowledge, operational leadership, vendor management, and business partnership.
