Stability Technology is seeking a Director of IT (Infrastructure & Operations) to lead global infrastructure, cloud operations, networking, and the Service Desk. You will build a lean team and ensure reliable, steady service across regions.
This role combines strategic judgment with hands-on delivery, manages providers, and focuses on cost oversight, incident prevention, and continuous improvement. Hybrid work requires onsite Tue–Thu.
We are partnering with a prominent manufacturing company to help find their next Director of IT (Infrastructure & Operations). This role is hybrid, onsite Tuesday - Thursday.
This is a broad operating leadership role. You will lead global infrastructure and Service Desk operations, develop a lean team, and get consistent results from our service providers. You need to stay close enough to the work to know where we have gaps, while making time to improve how the operation runs.
The operation is functioning, but too much time goes into reacting to issues. The opportunity is to strengthen ownership, follow through on commitments, and address the causes of recurring problems. We want an operation that responds well today and becomes more capable and self-managing over time.
You will lead from the front when needed, remove barriers, and help the team deliver with the people and partners we have. This requires both strategic judgment and personal engagement in service delivery. It is not a turnaround assignment or a mandate to rebuild everything.
We have distributed operations and significant reliance on managed service providers. We use modern Microsoft cloud services alongside business-critical legacy technology.
Your decisions will affect daily operations and customer service, from system availability and recovery to support quality, provisioning, and device management.
Treat providers as part of the delivery team. Understand their scope, service performance, consumption, and invoices; handle escalations; and make informed recommendations about what to retain, renegotiate, replace, or bring in-house. You need to move comfortably between roadmap and budget decisions and daily delivery.
You own cost optimization across the I&O domain. Understand what we are paying for, whether we are using it, and where we can reduce spend or get better value. Regular reviews and follow-through should be part of how the operation runs.
This role suits a director or a strong senior manager who has directly led infrastructure operations and a meaningful Service Desk or end-user support team. You should be comfortable leading eight people and using specialist providers as part of one operation.
We should see reliable operations, responsive support, fewer recurring issues, and work followed through to completion. The team should be developing, providers should be delivering against clear expectations, and spend should be understood and actively managed.
The measure is an operation that becomes more effective and self-managing over time, with less operational noise and less need for daily CIO intervention.
