Proof is seeking a Director of IT Engineering in the United States to lead an engineering‑minded IT organization, advancing infrastructure‑as‑code, automation, and AI‑driven operations. You will mentor a hands‑on team, shape strategy, and partner with InfoSec to secure identity and access across the business.

The role demands 10–15 years in IT/DevOps, deep Okta experience, and a track record of reducing tickets via automation while guiding mid‑level engineers.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of IT, systems administration, DevOps, or corporate technology engineering experience.
• Deep, hands‑on experience with Okta (required).
• Google Workspace experience strongly preferred.
• Experience building "IT as code" practices: Terraform or similar IaC, CI/CD, and GitOps for corporate SaaS.
• Track record of reducing ticket volume and manual toil through automation and root‑cause fixes.
• Experience mentoring or providing technical leadership to mid‑level IT analysts.
• Comfort operating as a hands‑on IC on a small team while also setting strategy.
• Familiarity with security and compliance fundamentals; partner with InfoSec.
• Curiosity about AI/agentic tools for operational efficiency.
• Strong communicator translating technical work to business needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the IT Engineering team as a hands‑on player‑coach, reviewing work and unblocking the team.
• Mentor the team as they move toward an engineering‑first operating model with IaC, automation, and CI/CD.
• Own the strategy and roadmap for corporate technology: identity and access management, productivity tools, endpoint management, SaaS/vendor management, IT procurement and budgeting.
• Champion adoption of AI and agentic tooling to reduce manual toil and ticket volume.
• Partner with InfoSec on identity, access, and compliance.
• Bring a data‑driven approach to support by tracking ticket trends and prioritizing high‑leverage fixes.
