Job summary

Nuuly is seeking a Director of Inventory Planning and Exit Strategy to lead the Inventory Planning team and own strategy, planning, and optimization of exit inventory across Rent channels and future channels.

This role collaborates with cross-functional partners including Merchandise Planning, Buying, Finance, Marketing, Operations, Analytics, and Reclectic leadership to drive scalable tools and decision frameworks for Nuuly's post-Rent lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in inventory planning, merchandise planning, financial planning, retail strategy, e-commerce, resale, or related discipline.
• Strong leadership experience developing teams and influencing senior cross-functional partners.
• Deep understanding of inventory planning, forecasting, sell-through, inventory aging, margin, markdowns, pricing, and productivity.
• Excellent financial acumen to evaluate inventory decisions on financial and operational outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Inventory Planning team, establishing ownership, decision rights, and operating cadences.
• Own inventory and financial planning across exit channels with forecasts and targets.
• Determine optimal destination, timing, and sequencing of inventory across channels and partners.
• Develop routing strategies based on demand, aging, seasonality, and channel capacity.
• Own exit-channel pricing strategy and cadence to optimize sell-through and margins.
• Forecast capacity needs and build business cases for additional exit-channel capacity.
• Evaluate expansion options and partnerships to maximize value of inventory and capital.
• Maximize productivity of exit channels while scaling new channels and models.
• Partner with Engineering, Data Science, and Analytics to define scalable inventory decisions.
