Job summary

URBN Urban Outfitters, Inc. is seeking a Director of Inventory Planning and Exit Strategy to lead the Inventory Planning team and own the strategy, planning, and optimization of exit inventory across Thrift, Marketplace, Reclectic, and resale channels.

You will partner with Merchandising, Finance, Engineering, Data Science, and Analytics to build scalable decision frameworks, drive financial recovery, and maximize inventory productivity in Nuuly's post-Rent lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in inventory planning or related fields.
• Leadership experience with senior cross-functional partners.
• Deep knowledge of inventory forecasting, aging, and pricing.
• Strong financial acumen and data-driven decision making.
• Experience with new channels, marketplaces, or partnerships preferred.
• Experience collaborating with engineering, data science, and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Inventory Planning team with clear ownership and cadence.
• Own inventory and financial planning across exit channels with forecasts.
• Determine optimal destination, timing, volume, and sequencing of exit inventory.
• Develop routing strategies based on demand, age, seasonality, and margins.
• Own exit-channel pricing, including initial pricing and markdown cadence.
• Forecast exit-channel capacity needs and build the business case for expansion.
• Evaluate Reclectic expansion vs other channels to maximize value.
• Maximize productivity and scale new channels and partnerships.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Buying, Data Science, and Analytics on tech solutions.
• Create closed-loop feedback to inform future decisions.
• Partner with Merchandise Planning to align Rent demand and inventory decisions.
