Job summary

Centric Brands in Greensboro, NC seeks a Director of Inventory Accounting to lead the end-to-end inventory financial function and drive process improvements. You will oversee valuation, reserves, manufacturing accounting, and inventory close, partnering with Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain.

The role requires 10+ years in accounting with manufacturing exposure, strong US GAAP and SOX knowledge, and leadership experience managing a small team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience including inventory/cost/manufacturing accounting.
• 5+ years in inventory, cost, or manufacturing accounting with leadership responsibility.
• Manufacturing experience across multiple facilities or locations is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, inventory valuation, reserves, standard costing, and variances.
• Experience with SOX, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI tools is a plus.
• CPA preferred and MBA advantageous for senior leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the inventory accounting function, ensuring accurate and compliant reporting across all locations.
• Lead monthly inventory close, reconciliations, journal entries, and KPI reporting.
• Manage inventory valuation, reserves analysis, and production overhead capitalization.
• Direct forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting to senior management.
• Maintain inventory policies, controls, and cross-functional collaboration with operations and treasury.
• Support audits and ensure SOX controls are effectively designed and tested.
• Develop and mentor three direct reports, building a high-performing team.
