Job summary

The School of American Ballet seeks a Director of Institutional Giving to lead and expand its foundation, government, and corporate fundraising efforts. Qualifications

• 5+ years of institutional giving experience; knowledge of New York funders.
• Excellent written and oral communication; budgeting and data analysis skills.
• Proven track record of securing gifts at the $100,000+ level.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in donor databases such as Raiser's Edge.

Responsibilities

• Expand institutional giving strategy to secure > $1.5 million in gifts.
• Build and manage relationships with 40+ foundations, corporate, and government donors.
• Identify prospects; solicit and steward gifts; coordinate with team.
• Prepare proposals, budgets, and reports for student life programming and scholarship initiatives.
• Oversee donor communications, letters, newsletters, and events.
• Engage Board and Development Committee in fundraising efforts.
• Guide prospect solicitation and donor stewardship with leadership.
• Plan and execute capital and endowment campaigns.
