Job summary

Strategic Employment Partners (SEP) seeks a Director of Infrastructure & IT Operations to own the production infrastructure behind a platform with 20M+ monthly visitors and the internal IT that keeps the company running. The role combines cloud architecture, reliability, and corporate IT leadership in a modernization effort. You will lead AWS-based operations, drive cost management, and guide architecture decisions to scale with demand.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cloud infrastructure, SRE, platform engineering, or IT operations.
• 5+ years leading teams including managers or technical leads.
• Proven ownership of high-traffic customer-facing platforms in AWS or equivalent.
• Ability to bridge production engineering and employee IT.

An established, profitable consumer technology company is hiring a Director of Infrastructure & IT Operations to own both sides of the house: the production infrastructure behind a platform serving 20M+ monthly visitors, and the internal IT that keeps the company running day to day.

The cloud environment and operational practices are actively being modernized. This is a build seat, not a caretaker seat.

What you'll own

• Reliability at scale: SLOs, observability, incident command, disaster recovery
• Corporate IT, helpdesk, and employee technology
• Vendor management, infrastructure budget, and cloud cost

What the role requires

• 10+ years across cloud infrastructure, SRE, platform engineering, or IT operations
• 5+ years leading teams, including managers or technical leads
• Real ownership of high-traffic, customer-facing platforms in AWS or equivalent
• Comfort spanning production engineering and employee-facing IT - most leaders have one, not both

Strong technical judgment matters here. This is a leadership role that still expects you to make architectural calls.
