Job summary

AstraZeneca plc seeks a Director of Implementation Science in Wilmington, DE to lead evidence-to-practice initiatives across CVRM, R&I, and priority disease areas. You will design data-driven interventions, collaborate with Field Medical and CADs, and apply AI tools within governance to advance GDMT adoption and patient outcomes.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Implementation Science & Policy, you will shape IS objectives, work with HQ and field teams, and stay abreast of US payer landscapes

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a relevant field (health economics, outcomes research, epidemiology, health policy) or related field.
• Seven+ years of experience in academia, consulting, or industry (pharma/biotech/med device).
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to apply Real-World Data and evidence to inform IS initiatives.
• Excellent communication and autonomy in driving projects.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to IS strategy and operating model and establish intervention playbooks.
• Guide medical strategy with Core Medical Teams to translate product value into practice.
• Empower Field Medical and CADs with localized data and insights for targeted engagement.
• Design and execute interventions to accelerate GDMT adoption (EHR alerts, learning collaboratives).
• Apply AI responsibly across barrier identification, personalization, and measurement.
• Cultivate partnerships with health systems, payers, and academic collaborators.
• Co-own evidence-to-practice handoff with RWE leaders; share methodologies with Global Medical Evidence.
