Job summary

AstraZeneca in Wilmington, DE seeks a Senior Director, US Evidence – Real-World Evidence, to lead RWE strategy for the Respiratory & Immunology portfolio. You will steer a team of Directors, shaping studies that demonstrate value and inform medical strategy across the product lifecycle.

You will partner with global teams, champion health equity, and drive AI-enabled, rigorous evidence workflows while ensuring strong cross-functional collaboration with HEPE, HTA, and payer-facing teams.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Health Economics, Epidemiology, Outcomes Research, Public Health, or related field.
• 10+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech with RWE/HEOR focus.
• Proven leadership of Director-level talent and high-performing teams.
• Deep proficiency in observational study design and real-world data sources.

Responsibilities

• Lead the RWE component of US Evidence Plans across the product lifecycle.
• Partner with Global teams to align US priorities with global strategy.
• Champion health equity in study design and data selection.
• Direct observational studies, registries, and pragmatic effectiveness research.
• Mentor RWE Directors and build career development paths.
• Support payer, HTA, and policy-relevant evidence generation.
• Align US outputs with HTA submissions and global development plans.
• Collaborate with other Senior Directors to shape strategic agenda for US Evidence.
• Champion AI-enabled, human-in-the-loop adoption of evidence workflows.
• Manage budget, resources, and vendor performance for timely delivery.
