Director of HR Services
This Administrative position offices in-person, on campus

The Director of HR Services’ role is critical for the school, overseeing all aspects of the human resource functions, leading an exceptional HR staff and investing in our extraordinary team. Primary Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership, oversight, implementation, and execution of all HR functions, including God-honoring and inspiring leadership and oversight of the current Human Resources staff. Developing a clear understanding of their role responsibilities and seeking to develop and maximize their potential is vital.
- Oversee the hiring and onboarding workflow process for all positions within the organization, ensuring mission-aligned candidates are secured for each role and onboarded with excellence.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and other hiring managers on the development of an appropriate attraction and recruitment strategy for each open position. Ensure role descriptions are updated and reflect the true needs of the position. Collaborate with the CFO on establishing a pay range for all requisitions. Serve as a member of the interview team for all key positions and as requested. Ensure the offer letter approval process is conducted consistently and meets organizational standards.
- Work collaboratively and in a spirit of true partnership with leaders, department chairs, managers and supervisors to resolve employee conflict in a biblically-based manner ensuring employees are always treated with respect, dignity and professionalism, regardless of the nature of the conflict
- Ensure the school’s current performance evaluation process for all instructional faculty and staff positions is consistently implemented across all departments, accurately reflects job performance and provides constructive feedback in alignment with the school’s 4Cs – Character, Chemistry, Culture and Competency.
- Collaborate with members of the Academic leadership team in the development, implementation and execution of the school’s Professional Development Plan, ensuring the budget is optimized for the highest and best use and fully aligned with the school’s goals and objectives for the year ( Manager training and leadership development, consistent with the content in the Culture Document, is included as part of the school’s overall Plan )
- In collaboration with the school’s CFO, provide oversight, design and implementation of the school’s benefit programs, serving as the primary liaison with the school’s key vendor relationships and as the chair of the school’s Employee Benefits Committee, ensuring that all plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and consistent with the provisions in the plan document
- Oversee the school’s CBI & FBI background screening program to ensure that all new and current employees as well as volunteers meet the highest standards and the student population is not unnecessarily put at risk
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review policies, practices and procedures to maintain compliance as needed.
- Ensure full compliance with the school’s established policies, practices and protocols as outlined in the Culture Document, Employment Handbook, Christian Community Policy, Child Protection Policy and Total Rewards Philosophy.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Shepherd the employee exit process for all voluntary transitions, striving to assist employees in ending well and exiting in a God-honoring manner.
- Oversee the involuntary employee transition process and the development of all performance improvement plans (PIPs), serving as an HR representative when the plan is presented and participating in all follow up conversations, striving to ensure the organization is reasonably protected from potential legal claims and disputes. Ensuring the matter from start to finish is handled in a God-honoring way, with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism, is a must.
- Serve as the primary recruiter for all senior leadership and director-level positions, overseeing the entire workflow process from initial application to offer letter approval
- Lead the bi-annual review and update of the school’s Employment Handbook consistent with the document’s current voice, tone and style. Interface with the school’s employment attorney to ensure a final legal review once all the updates have been finalized.
- Develop an annual operating plan consistent with the school’s 5-year strategic plan and overall annual objectives as well as the annual Human Resources budget.
- Serve as a trusted and leveraged partner to the Head of School in all HR related matters. Maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality, professionalism and discretion, at all times, is a must.

Education
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree required
Experience
- 5+ years prior Human Resources leadership experience, required
- PHR or SHRM certification preferred
- Ability to learn and utilize new softwares, particularly Hiring & Payroll systems such as Paylocity, Jobvite, etc. Prior experience in Applicant Tracking Systems preferred
- Previous experience working in a faith-based organization, ministry or Christian school preferred
- Previous experience directly supervising an HR team preferred
- Training in de-escalation techniques is a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
