Job summary

NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development is seeking an experienced Associate Housing Development to lead operations within the Division of Portfolio Management & Conversions. You will oversee multiple teams, manage staff, and supervise requisitions and project handoffs to ensure timely completion of HPD projects.

Qualifications

• Requires a baccalaureate degree plus 3 years of full-time professional experience in development, appraisal, financing, negotiation, or related housing work.
• Alternative: high school diploma plus 7 years of relevant experience; graduate study may substitute up to one year.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate, and conduct operational activities for the Division.
• Facilitate hiring actions for teams within the division, coordinating with Budget and HR.
• Serve as liaison to Executive Directors and the Assistant Commissioner.
• Supervise the Director of Requisitions and other staff as appropriate.
• Coordinate data tracking, policy development, and reporting for divisional priorities.
• Advance recruitment and onboarding processes and oversee personnel matters.
• Advocate for operational needs in cross-agency discussions and prepare materials for internal and external meetings.
