Director of Housekeeping – Environmental Services

Come join us at St. Cabrini Nursing Home! We are a 304-bed, faith-based, nonprofit, short-term rehabilitation and skilled geriatric care facility founded in 1974, continuing St. Frances Xavier Cabrini’s legacy of serving those in need through healing, teaching, caring, and giving.

We are looking to fill the position of Director of Housekeeping – Environmental Services.

$75K to $85K annually, based on skills and experience.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years of experience as a supervisor of environmental services, including at least two years in a long-term care setting.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or Health Care Administration.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with staff at all levels.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Introduction:

Manage, plan, and direct all functions and activities of the Housekeeping, Laundry, and Linen Department.

Job Summary:

• Maintain the department in an "inspection-ready" state, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Prepare the annual budget for the Housekeeping, Laundry, and Linen departments.
• Manage daily operations to ensure a high level of cleanliness and appearance for visitors and staff.
• Monitor and manage all controls, including daily managerial reports, inspections, and staff meetings.
• Interview, select, evaluate, discipline, and terminate employees in accordance with Cabrini of Westchester policies.
• Assist in planning and managing waste collection, vermin control, and physical maintenance of the facility.
• Conduct periodic inspections and inventory of supplies.
• Train staff in safe work practices and enforce organizational safety rules.
