Summary

Leads the housekeeping department to deliver the highest level of guest services each day and night. Helps establish a safe and friendly work environment by managing and delegating assignments, scheduling, training, coaching and developing a remarkable housekeeping team. Also, responsible for working with management regarding budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

Duties and Responsibilities

We are looking for those who are team oriented and have a strong service approach. This position requires strong leadership skills, and a willingness to guide and develop team members to do their best by creating a motivating work environment. This position needs an individual who is passionate about excellence and guest service. Also, someone who is continuously evolving and improving their staff performance in order to provide a high level of service for all guests each and every day. Minimum five years management experience with at least three years in housekeeping management at progressively higher levels of responsibility. Bi-lingual- English/Spanish written and verbal communication skills is required.

Responsibilities include, but are never limited to:

  1. Celebrate our company culture of respect toward all guests and employees.
  2. Represent the hotel in a positive manner at all times.
  3. Understand and maintain Fairfield Marriott brand standards and requirements.
  4. Create schedules, conduct developmental performance reviews, verify hours for payroll purposes, resolve problems, provide open communication processes, discipline, and take corrective actions.
  5. Conduct regular hotel inspections to ensure adherence to cleanliness and maintenance standards.
  6. Maintain a regularly scheduled cleaning program (i.e. floor care, deep cleaning, mattress flipping, etc) and maintain a detailed checklist for each position.
  7. Ensure all corporate Risk Management (MSDS, HazComm, etc.) standards are in compliance.
  8. Ensure that public areas, guest rooms and back of the house areas are cleaned to hotel standards.
  9. Oversee hotel breakfast and meeting room F&B servicing.
  10. Maintain pars of Housekeeping, Breakfast and Linen supplies through inventories & proper ordering.
  11. Monitor and follow up on work orders submitted to Engineering according to hotel procedures.
  12. Operate and ensure proper use of HotSos and related systems.
  13. Maintain open and constant communication with all other departments in the hotel.
  14. Monitor and control lost and found.
  15. Demonstrate financial responsibility by monitoring budgetary guidelines.
  16. Exemplify the hotel's Standard Code of Conduct and all other regulations established by management and Employee Handbook.
