Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Director of Engineering to oversee all engineering operations for a premier New York City hotel. You will manage staff, budgets, and preventive maintenance, ensuring safe and profitable hotel operations in alignment with company standards.

You will lead energy conservation programs, maintain critical systems, and ensure compliance with ADA and local regulations, while coordinating with other departments for a superior guest experience.

Qualifications

• Progressive facilities management experience in hotel or related field.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial oversight abilities.
• Experience leading engineering teams and maintenance programs.
• Knowledge of ADA and life-safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train Engineering staff in customer service and safety standards.
• Create and post Engineering staff schedules per hotel standards.
• Develop annual department budget and financial forecasts.
• Maintain property, equipment, grounds and assets in good repair.
• Ensure compliance with all laws and Highgate Hotel standards.
• Lead energy conservation and safety initiatives.
• Manage vendor contracts controlled by Engineering.
• Participate in Highgate Hotel programs and safety committees.
