Job summary

Highgate Hotels, LP is seeking a Chief Engineer for ModernHaus SoHo in New York to lead all engineering operations, safety, energy programs and preventive maintenance. The role oversees staff, budget planning, regulatory compliance and aligns engineering activities with guest satisfaction and asset protection.

The Chief Engineer is responsible for financial performance, scheduling, vendor contracts, and emergency response, with emphasis on safety, ADA compliance, and leadership of the hotel’s

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of progressive facilities management experience in a hotel or related field.
• Stationary Engineer’s license if required by local code.
• HVAC, electrical, plumbing and general maintenance skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train all Engineering staff in customer service and standard operating procedures.
• Create and manage staff schedules and annual department budget.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs and energy conservation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with ADA and all relevant laws and regulations.
• Manage vendor contracts and participate in safety committees.
