Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Director of Engineering for a leading Miami Beach hotel. The role oversees all engineering operations, safety programs and capital projects to ensure safe, efficient and compliant hotel performance.

The successful candidate will manage budgets, supervise staff, and drive energy efficiency while maintaining guest comfort and asset value in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive facilities management experience in hospitality or related field.
• HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations and general maintenance knowledge required.
• Ability to supervise, train and lead engineering staff and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train Engineering staff in customer service, SOPs and safety standards.
• Create, approve and post Engineering staff schedules per Highgate standards.
• Develop and manage annual departmental budget and forecasts.
• Maintain property, equipment and assets to Highgate standards and legal compliance.
• Lead energy conservation initiatives and preventive maintenance programs.
• Ensure compliance with ADA, life safety, and local regulations.
• Support special projects, renovations, and vendor contracts.
