Job summary

Hyatt Hotels Corporation seeks an enthusiastic Director of Design & Construction to join our Americas Design Team. You will oversee assigned hotel projects as the brand expert, guiding owners and consultants through design and construction, while aligning with Hyatt standards.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across the Americas, drive forward-thinking initiatives, and ensure adherence to brand components and technical standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction management, engineering, interior architecture or related field.
• 10+ years with long tenure focusing on design and/or construction in hotel brands.
• Construction certifications and/or architecture license (preferred).
• Familiarity with ADA/IBC regulations and building types.

Responsibilities

• Oversee assigned hotel projects as the brand expert for Hyatt.
• Lead project reviews and dialogue with architects, contractors and consultants.
• Ensure adherence to Hyatt design standards across all phases from design through opening.
• Collaborate with hotel project teams in a cross-functional, team-focused manner.
• Conduct site visits (in person and virtual) to monitor construction progress.
• Help determine opportunities, boundaries and flexibility for project success in collaboration with internal teams.
• Stay current with best practices, industry standards and new products related to hotel design & construction.
• Revise and evolve prototypical documentation, standards, and processes.
• Work across departments to understand managed and franchised hotel design and operations.
