Job summary

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington is seeking a full-time Director of Government Programs and Grants to lead federal and state education programs for 50+ Catholic schools. You will manage grant participation, compliance, and technical assistance, working with LEAs to maximize funding opportunities that benefit students and teachers.

The role requires travel locally and a hybrid schedule at the Pastoral Center in Hyattsville, with roughly 10–20% travel to schools.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in education, government programs, grants administration, project management, or related fields.
• Experience administering or supporting federal/state/grant-funded education programs preferred with knowledge of ESEA/IDEA programs.
• Experience coordinating multiple projects with competing deadlines and providing technical assistance to schools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee federal and state education programs for 50+ Archdiocesan schools, ensuring compliance and maximizing funding access.
• Serve as liaison with LEAs to support ESEA/IDEA program implementation and funding opportunities.
• Attend ~100 federal program consultations annually with six LEAs and facilitate feedback for student needs.
• Lead Child Find processes and provide training to school administrators, teachers and families.
• Create tracking systems for applications, awards, budgets, spenddown and reporting across fiscal years.
• Coordinate participation of 50+ schools in OSP, BOOST, NASP, NSPT and NSHS programs in MD.
• Collaborate with Enrollment, Marketing and Academics to maximize pooled federal funding.
• Support advocacy efforts for government programs benefiting non-public schools in MD and DC.
• Administer an annual teacher grant program from development to closeout.
