Job summary

CH Management is seeking a Safety Manager in Baton Rouge, LA to oversee safety programs for our fleet and sites. You will ensure DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA compliance, lead safety trainings, and manage incident investigations to reduce risk.

The role requires strong leadership, data analysis, and communication skills, with travel across local and national routes. A safety-focused background in transportation or construction supports success in this position.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations.
• Strong communication and leadership capabilities for training and coaching.
• Ability to analyze safety data, identify trends, and implement mitigations.
• Proven experience in investigating incidents and developing corrective actions.
• CDL is a plus; travel required (local and national).

Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA compliance across the fleet and sites.
• Training & Education: Develop and deliver safety training and onboarding.
• Incident Management: Investigate accidents, incidents, near-misses, and root causes.
• Performance Monitoring: Use telematics/dashcams and safety software to coach drivers.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain DVIRs and safety metrics for audits.
• Safety Culture & Policies: Enforce safety policies and audits across the organization.
