Job summary

Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits, LLC in Baton Rouge is seeking a Fleet Safety Compliance Manager to oversee DOT/FMCSR compliance for our delivery fleet and ensure driver qualifications meet regulatory standards.

This role partners with Operations Leadership to train staff, analyze incidents, and implement safety programs that uphold policy adherence and continuous improvement across the organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years professional experience in DOT Compliance or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field preferred.
• Certified Transportation Professional within 12 months of hire.
• OSHA 30-Hour certification within 60 days of hire.
• Smith System Driving Instructor certification within six months of hire.
• Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification within two years of hire.
• Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Strong knowledge of FMCSR requirements pertaining to driver qualification files and hours of service.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting regulations and reports.
• Excellent verbal, written, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure transportation associates understand and operate within policies, procedures and safety rules.
• Investigate and report all vehicle collisions timely per policy and FMCSR.
• Train transportation staff on vehicle incident reporting procedures.
• Lead vehicle investigations and determine preventability with corrective actions.
• Establish Vehicle Collision Review Committees at SGWS locations.
• Train supervisors on Lytx, Geotab Telematics, Benchmark (Gensuite) and DataSense.
• Monitor ELD and EDVIR for FMCSR compliance and company policy.
• Track fleet safety metrics and drive KPI-based improvements.
• Coordinate with EHS on fleet safety projects and DOT regulatory training.
