Job summary

Transdev seeks a Safety Manager in Louisiana to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and company safety requirements. The role leads operator candidate training, promotes strong leadership, and boosts morale at the Jefferson Parish location.

Responsibilities include safety program administration, ongoing training, OSHA log maintenance, audits, and accident investigations. Travel and flexible scheduling may be required to support safety needs across the location.

Qualifications

• Requires at least a High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the passenger transportation industry.
• Experience in location safety management and/or operations management.
• Experience creating and managing training materials.
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules.
• Subject to DOT drug testing per 49 CFR Part 40.

Responsibilities

• Provides behind-the-wheel instruction according to corporate and client specifications for vehicle operation and passenger transportation.
• Conducts classroom training in accordance with corporate and location requirements.
• Ensures safety manuals, programs, policies, and procedures are current and meet location needs.
• Documents training activities and maintains training-related employee records.
• Establishes relationships with client and corporate personnel to identify training needs and opportunities.
• Prepares and conducts monthly safety meetings.
• Maintains employee filing system and participates in audits and inspections.
• Manages drug & alcohol program including random testing and audits.
• Manages injury prevention programs to reduce workplace injuries.
• Conducts accident investigations and assigns retraining when needed.
• Maintains posting of OSHA log and conducts road safety observations.
• Provides coaching and retraining on Drive Cam as required.
• Responds to customer comments related to service.
